Drop out NationRecently Time Magazine wrote an article on the crisis of American Youth dropping out of High School.  On their cover they referred to America as “Drop-Out Nation.”  Within this article it was quoted that “thirty percent of all public school students drop out of high school.  For African American and Latino males it is a “staggering fifty percent.”

With all of the crime among the inner cities and the growth of drug and alcohol abuse among our youth, it is essential that we impact their minds in a positive way.  In our nation, we prepare for housing criminals rather than teaching youth how to be successful.  We spend roughly six thousands dollars a year per child for their education while spending over thirty thousand dollars a year to keep one person in jail.  If we can get these youth the essential life skills they need while they are young, they will be motivated and prepared for a successful and fulfilling life.

We also understand that today’s generation is extremely involved and captivated with the technological advances of the 21st century.  The challenge is to make sure this generation of youth is taught to use technology to better themselves.  Therefore, we are building an on-line community for youth who want to change and adults who care to interact with one another in a positive way with the goal in mind to produce well-rounded youth that have obtained the right skills to manage their lives.
