Being Robbed at the ATM
This post came to us from Lauren Dunn in Moreno Valley who will turn 17 on the 17th in just a few days. Lauren, Happy Birthday and Thank you for these tips. Hopefully we will never be robbed at the ATM but it is good to know how to alert the police if you are:
This is what Lauren says:
PIN NUMBER REVERSAL (GOOD TO KNOW)
If you should ever be forced by a robber
to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering
your Pin # in reverse.
For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would
put in 4321. The ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the
ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the
money you requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be
immediately dispatched to help you. This information was recently
broadcasted on FOX TV and it states that it is seldom used because people
don’t know it exists. Please pass this along to everyone possible.

OMG…The comment about being robbed at the atm reminds me of this e mail that I recieved last week. It said that a new thing that car theifs are doing now is when you get in your car, they put a piece of paper on your back window. They do this so that when you see it trying to back out you get out of the car and when you do they jump in and drive away with your car. This is really bad for women because most likely if this happens your purse will still be in your car. So just a warning to all the ladies (and fellas) lol.
